Congratulations to my hometown of Duluth, Minnesota who was just named the best town in America! Outside Magazine set out to find the best city and after six rounds of voting, Duluth beat out 63 other towns including Minneapolis (ha ha).
Duluth Mayor, Don Ness, posted on his Facebook page...
"Over the past month, we saw people from all over the country weigh in and proclaim how much they love this city. Despite the worst two years of weather in our city’s history, Duluthians stood up and showed their pride in this city. We proudly highlighted world-class outdoor recreation and natural beauty that compared favorably to much larger and much more popular cities across the nation."
Duluth beat Provo, Utah in the final round with 55% of the votes. The city will be featured in print and online in Outdoor Magazine sometime in September.
If you have never visited my hometown of Duluth, I can't suggest enough making the two hour trip north for a fun and relaxing weekend. Summer is the best time to visit as you get to see the best the city has to offer with Lake Superior, Canal Park, Park Point, all the hiking and biking trails and so much more! If you are into a lot of winter activities, trust me, there is more than enough to do there with hockey, skating, skiing and more. It's not always that cold there, despite what my wife may tell you!
