Rocket Club family, friends, Minnesotans, residents of the North Country, fans of good music, K102 listeners, Indy Sky readers, independent music supporters — it's here; Rocket's Club's much anticipated new album, North Country, is completed and ready for your ears! Our friends at K102 (KEEY 102.1 Minneapolis/St. Paul) are hosting an exclusive listening party of all twelve tracks from the new album, free, before you can buy it!
"North Country" — our summertime anthem, "I Can't Dance" — a groovin' party number, and "She's The One" — an upbeat love tale and the band's latest release to radio primed to burn up the country charts, are just the foundation of a rock solid compilation of what Rocket Club does best; great music. The band's Chris Hawkey (vocals), Don Smithmier (vocals, keys), Brian Kroening (guitar), Luke Kramer (guitar), Joel Sayles (bass guitar), and Billy Thommes (drums) display top-caliber musicianship with heartland rock styling, weaving a welcoming portrait of North Country life. Powerful vocals and brilliant harmonies express vivid storytelling through superior songwriting and heartfelt (and sometimes perfectly witty) lyrics.
What I love most is the undercurrent of optimism you find in every Rocket Club record. There's no mistake that's what you'll find in North Country. Hope, perseverance and pride drives the music — a universal message that you can't deny is good for the ears and good for the heart.
There's something for everyone in North Country. I love every moment of the record but personally, I can't stop playing "Living Out Loud" — hot damn. It's my jam! If you love what you hear from the studio, it's only a taste of what you get from a live Rocket Club show. Come on out to the North Country CD Release event on May 3rd at The Varsity Theater to hear this live and loud. I can guarantee it's something you won't soon forget.
I'm proud to say, this is what the North Country sounds like.
