A question was proposed recently, by some of my online mommy friends, "What would you buy for yourself if money didn't matter?" I pondered it for a moment and thought about agreeing with the previous reponses of "A paid off house" or "A new vehicle" but instead I thought about what would really make me happy. My answer is: a maid service.

I have actually had daydreams of coming home to a clean house. Where I could just kick off my shoes, make a nice dinner and enjoy time with my family. Wouldn't that be amazing! My heart flutters at the thought of it! Alas, it is only a dream. The reality is that I have to clean - day in and day out. And with two small crazy kids, a dog, cat and husband - my work is never done. I'm sure it doesn't help that I can't do a quick clean. I can't stand dust, dirt, marks on the walls or windows so I figure if I'm going to clean then I should really clean. My husband thinks I go overboard; I disagree, I think a clean, organized house is important. So I'll just keep daydreaming? and maybe play the lottery.

After cleaning the house this week I did get to have some fun with my family. We took the girls Elm Creek Chlorinated Swimming Pond a couple times and then to see Dispicable Me at the theater. The girls loved swimming and pretending that JD and I were dragons trying to get them.

By Kennedy's suggestion Friday night, I took the girls to Target to buy a movie. Since JD was at Country Jam we thought a girls movie night was in order. I was fully prepared to have to watch yet ANOTHER Disney Princess movie, but was pleasently surprised when they chose Ghostbusters. Gosh I love my girls, they are so cool. It was great to watch a movie from my childhood with them. They loved it and now run around the house shouting, "Who ya gonna call? GHOSTBUSTERS!!!"

In review, it was a good week, cleaning included.

And here is a picture of the girls from Friday. I love it. I think it captures them perfectly. They even picked out their own outfits. As you can see on their faces, there is some crazy in those two little cutie pies.

I have to start out this weeks' blog by saying Happy Birthday to my darling husband JD! One more year until the big 3-0, and he's already telling me to plan his surprise party. I hope that his Birthday is fantastic and I think he had a great week/weekend leading up to it.

This past week was nice, besides a couple days of terrible weather. On Thursday we went on a ride to Delano, to the Harley Dealership, where JD picked out a new wallet and pair of sunglasses for his birthday. Then we rode around Buffalo Lake and on the way home the sun went down. We rode thru so many bugs that it looked like it was snowing out. I don't think we've ever been so thankful for the windshield.

On Saturday we hopped back on the bike and headed down to Henderson. The ride down was lovely. It was hot and sunny. The way back was another story. We got caught in the rain and it was hard to see at times. We made it home during a break in the weather, only to find out that little Reese was feeling mighty sick.

After a home diagnosis of an Ear Infection I thought it would be best to take her to the ER, rather than make her suffer thru the night until urgent care opened the next morning. The new Maple Grove Hospital is fantastic! We were in and out in a half hour! As soon as we were in a room the nurse brought Reese some stickers and crayons. The doctor came in just a couple minutes later and determined that it was a rip-roarin' ear infection, along with a cold that seemed to take root in her eyes. They gave her a freezie-pop, which made her very happy, a first dose of antibiotics and we were on our way. By the time we hit Target (about 20 min. later) Reese looked at me and said, "Mama, my boo-boo's all gone. My ear boo-boo is all better." You could see the relief on her face, no more pain. My poor baby girl.

Speaking of infections and illness, I'm giving up. I know I've complained on here about how sick we've all been, but this is ridiculous. In the past 6 weeks we've had - Pneumonia, 2 doses of the flu, 2 ear infections (one in each kid), and 2 head colds. We've filled 4 prescriptions and bought a ton of vapor rub and Motrin. Even upping our vitamin C and disinfecting my house isn't working. I hope that we'll be done for the year after all this.

On Sunday, we went to Benihanna for JD's birthday dinner. We love Benihanna. At one point during the meal Kennedy leaned over to JD and whispered, "He makes the best food." I guess mom's no match for the Beni chef. Maybe I should start twirling knives at home? Nope, that would be a BAD idea.

Here's a couple funny things that happened this week (as usual).

First off, on Saturday during our Harley ride we were stopped at a stoplight where JD and Garret (one of the friends we rode with) proceeded to argue about Edward and Jacob. Just two manly men arguing Twilight at a red light.

Second, Reese thinks it's okay to say bad words if she doesn't say the end of it. For example, she'll say "Stup" leaving off the 'id' and try to get away with it. By her logic then I should be able to use the words, "sh," "da," and "bia" in everyday conversation. Yeah, I don't think I'll be trying that out at work anytime soon.

Last but not least, around 4:30 am Sunday morning I was woken up by something wet that landed all over my head, pillow and upper body. I sprang up and for about 10 seconds was terrified that I had just been puked on by one of my kids (if you're a parent you understand). I was so relieved to see Wolverine (our cat) standing on the headboard of our bed and Kennedy's cup of water laying beside my now drenched pillow. I guess he was thirsty and ended up knocking the drink on my head. Good morning to me! I'm still chuckling about it.

Well, there's a summary of our week. The last thing I want to add is a huge THANK YOU to all of you who listen to JD. He was rated the #1 Afternoon show in the Twin Cities last week!!!!!!! Way to go JD, but it wouldn't have been possible without all of you! So again, Thank you so much!!!!

Yes, I titled this blog after a Josh Thompson song. I couldn't think of a better phrase to summarize the past week/weekend. I'm sure JD will love this blog, if only because of the title and his man-crush.

Our week was pretty uneventful. JD was off on Monday, but I had to work. He stayed home with the girls and I was so jealous. I can only imagine that's how he must feel on Wednesdays & Fridays when I'm home. He told me he wants to be a stay-at-home dad. Yeah, I'm sure he'd last all of 3 days with that job. I was a stay-at-home mom for the first 8 months of Kennedy's life, and then again after we had Reese until she was almost 2. It was the toughest job I've ever had. There are lots of perks and I loved being home, but you can really lose yourself in the daily needs of your kids. I work part-time now and it's wonderful. I get a couple days at home during the week and a couple days away. I am much less cranky, which I think is better for everyone. Well, maybe not everyone. JD does get annoyed with my 'To Do' lists I leave him (I make him clean the house Wednesday mornings - aren't I just evil).

We got our air conditioning fixed last Wednesday. THANK GOODNESS! I've had it freezing in our house, just because I can now. It was an easy fix, the outside unit was really dirty I guess and it caused our entire system to freeze. So now we're on a plan with the company, they'll come clean it each spring and fall to make sure it's working right. Totally worth the money in my book.

We got our cat neutered on Thursday. Now none of the men in my house can reproduce. Tee he.

On Friday we had a contractor out to give us an estimate on finishing our basement. We could really use the space. JD said he could do it himself, but I told him that I'd actually like to be able to use the basement. We decided it'd be better to call in a professional.

This weekend was most definitely a "Way Out Here" weekend. We had a fire with friends, complete with JD's guitar playing and "Sammy's" singing. On Saturday we swam at the Elm Creek Chlorinated Pond. That place is fantastic! Saturday night was a Harley ride and Isanti rodeo, topped off with some fun with the neighbors. The highlight of the weekend was Sunday. We headed out to a friends' place in Zimmerman where we swam, rode 4-wheelers, ate some fantastic food and JD shot some guns. Yes, you read that right JD shot some guns. He came back with all his fingers so I will call it a success. After the manly event he posed for some pictures 'Charlie's Angels' style. Yeah, that pretty much undid all the manliness of the day. You can see some pictures on his facebook page. Nothing like shooting in your swim trunks and flip flops. Yes, ladies he's all mine? don't be jealous ;)

What a great time we had this past week and weekend!

This weekend is JD's Birthday weekend? so hopefully he'll stop with the countdown on his facebook page for awhile. I'm sure I'll have plenty to write about next week, so please come back and read!
