UPDATE: Police say death toll in Downey, Calif., shooting has risen to 3.

(KFI) Two people were killed and at least two others injured today in a pair of shootings at a fire extinguisher business in Downey and a house two blocks away that may have been the home of the business owner.

The gunfire erupted at about 11:15 a.m. at United States Fire Protection in the 8700 block of Cleta Street, and a short time later at the nearby home, according to police and Downey Fire Department spokesman Jason Patao. 

Patao said two people died and two others were transported to area hospitals. It was unclear how many people were hit in each of the shootings.
