(NEWSER) – Christopher Dorner's life on the lam might finally be near an end, but he has taken the life of one more law-enforcement official in the process. One deputy was killed and another wounded in a furious gunfight that erupted today when Dorner fled inside a cabin in the Big Bear region of California after a car chase, reports the Los Angeles Times. Dorner reportedly broke into another cabin a few days ago and tied up the couple inside, holding them hostage until this morning when he left. One of the two managed to escape and call police.\
