In order be with his father, singer Dierk Bentley tweeted last weekend that "With a heavy heart we have to postpone Last Call Ball 8 on Wed. We plan to reschedule. Tix will be refunded, stay tuned for more details."
Taking the support from consoling fans, Bentley explains his father is the main reason that he's a part of the Country music industry today.
"[He's] my biggest influence in country music, because my dad loved country radio, so we always drove around listening to country radio - George Strait and Hank Williams and Randy Travis and all those guys. So, without him, I wouldn't be doing this, for sure," he explains according to Music City USA news.
In addition to an upcoming private memorial, Bentley will continue to play his scheduled show June 9 at the WYCD Hoedown in Detroit and the CMT Music Festival in Nashville the next night.
