A song first used to warm up to before performances, David Nail was recently convinced by family and friends to do a full recording, and video of the popular cover song.

Now a radio smash, Nail explains that "It's hard to believe the life that Someone Like You has taken on," says the soulful singer. "It's proof that people hunger for great songs -- and they are open to different interpretations of songs they love. I started singing it because it's a great song to warm up with, and people who heard it liked it ... then they told other people, who told other people. We never did it for anything more than to share with the folks who were asking."

After the success of his cover, Nail now plans to release it on a three-song EP, 1979, which will also feature "The Sound of a Million Dreams" and "Half Mile Hill", both songs off of his latest record.

"Every singer hears songs that make you want to sing them," says David. "I got to the Adele album late because I listen to so much sports talk radio, but the second I heard it, I was all about it. It was just one of those songs. And I love the idea that enough people want to hear it, that we're able to put this EP out on iTunes, so anyone who wants to share these songs with me can."

1979 is set to release July 17
