Carrie Underwood and Dierks Bentley will join the pop group Fun. and artist Josh Groban to perform "Teachers Rock," presented by Wal-Mart and Walden Media's upcoming film "Won't Back Down."
The new film will feature Academy Award nominees Viola Davis (The Help) and Maggie Gyllenhaal (The Dark Knight), two mothers who transform their children's failing inner-city school and make a difference in education.
The "Teachers Rock" benefit honors America's educators, and features personal recollections from musical stars Dave Grohl (the Foo Fighters), Usher, Adam Levine and James Valentine (Maroon 5).
Actors Meryl Streep, Jennifer Garner, Jack Black, and Morgan Freeman will also attend, among others.
Live performances will be taped August 14 at a special live concert at Nokia Theatre in L.A. Tickets for the charity event, starting at $40, will go on sale this Friday, July 27 at 10 a.m. at all Ticketmaster outlets.
Proceeds from "Teachers Rock" will benefit the following nonprofits: DonorsChoose.org, Feeding America and Teach for America.
