American Idol producers have been scouring the music industry for judges, hoping to obtain a country music judge for the popular show. Artists like Brad Paisley and Reba McEntire have both been contenders, and now the producers are looking at Keith Urban.

Urban recently spent a season coaching contestants on "The Voice" in his native country of Australia, and has made it clear that he's more focused on his music than his reality TV persona.

"They did reach out to us," Urban said in an interview with an Australian radio station. "But they have been reaching out to a lot of people, so I think they are just figuring out which way they are going to go too."

He confirmed the popular television show producers have reached out to him, but says right now he is concentrating on his new album.

"All I can say right now is that I'm trying to make an album and it's strange how these opportunities all come on one big fell swoop. But my priority right now is to just make a record and that really has to lead the charge for me."

Urban has yet to announce when his new album will be released, but says that he's working hard to sure that it sounds different than anything he's done before.
