Jake Owen is fired up over Tom Petty's comments, calling modern country music "bad rock with fiddle." In a recent radio interview, Jake expressed his disappointment in the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, speaking as a Petty fan and a fellow Floridian.
"First of all, why? Why is he talking about country music in his show?" Jake said, He added, "That bums me out a little bit, man, because I was a big Tom Petty fan -- and still am -- but you know, everyone makes ignorant comments from time to time and everyone's got their opinion on what they like and what they don't like. My dad always says, 'There's an ass for every seat.' So, if you don't like it, get out. Tom Petty pissed me off man."

“These songs just connected with me, whether for their energy or for what they were saying or just for the fact that they made me feel good," said Urban. He added that, "All of them have merit and even though we recorded a lot of songs, slowly this particular group started to come together.”

Jason Aldean just released his new music video for his latest song, "Night Train." The coolest part, to me, is that he included a ton of footage from his concert at Wrigley Field that my wife and I were at. It was hands down, the best concert we both had ever seen. I think the video does a great job of capturing not only the feeling of the song but also the emotions of seeing Aldean live in concert - especially in a venue like that.
Check it out!

One of my favorite things to do, thanks to working at K102, is helping to give back to the Twin Cities community. I grew up in a military family and a lot of my friends from High School ended up serving this great country of ours. I didn't, it just wasn't in me to be a soldier. However, one thing I love to do to help out those that serve us, is be part of Defending the Blue Line.
They are a locally based charity that helps out military families with children that want to play hockey but can't afford all the costs. Defending the Blue Line will help financially as well as donating equipment to the kids.
One of the main ways we raise money to assist these families is with our annual charity hockey game. It is happening this weekend and only costs $10 to get in.

This past weekend, my wife and I had a chance to go to Chicago to check out Jason Aldean's "Night Train Tour" at historic Wrigley Field. My wife is not only a huge Aldean fan but also a baseball nut so it was a double dose of awesomeness for her! I have to say that it was the best concert I have ever seen. The show was just a massive production from start to finish.
This is my recap in pictures and videos...
Jason Aldean happened to roll by us...
Ok...maybe not =) We were so close I could touch the ivy!
Thomas Rhett took the stage first and was great!
Jake Owen was next and just did an awesome job!
Kelly Clarkson was next and made a fan out of me. It was cool to see an entire baseball stadium full of people going bananas!
Finally, during a little bit of rain, Jason Aldean took the stage and rocked the ivy off the walls of Wrigley Field!
When Kenny Chesney released his latest album, Life on a Rock, one of the songs I liked right away was "When I See This Bar." I just really like the words and sound of it. Plus, I have seen some YouTube videos where Eric Church has been singing it with him on the road this summer.
Yesterday, Chesney posted the music video for the song and to no surprise, it's set on a beach and water! Check it out...

A couple of weekends ago, Jake Owen was racing go-karts with some of his NASCAR buddies when he got into an accident. That crash resulted in a trip to the hospital and surgery on his hand. However, Owen promised his fans that he wouldn't miss any shows and this past weekend in Boston, he made good on that.
He was able to perform both nights at historic Fenway Park as an opening act for Jason Aldean's Night Train Tour. Owen was in a sling and his arm/hand heavily bandaged from his surgical procedure a few days earlier. Even though it wasn't the most ideal situation, he made the most of it and seemed to have a blast!
Here a few of Owen's tweets from this past weekend...

Boston, I love you. Thank you for being so welcoming and hospitable the last 2 evenings. Just got home. Headed to hold my family. #Blessed— Jake Owen (@jakeowen) July 14, 2013
