By 2023, it looks like we're going to meet some aliens. According to a "Global Risks" report by the World Economic Forum, it looks like we're on pace to make contact with aliens within the next decade.

They say, "Given the pace of space exploration, it is increasingly conceivable that we may discover the existence of alien life in 10 years' time, we may have evidence not only that Earth is not unique, but also that life exists elsewhere in the universe."

Also, their biggest concern isn't a full-scale alien invasion that enslaves the human race but that people will have panic attacks and meltdowns if we discover alien life and it makes them question their religious beliefs.

"The discovery of even simple life would fuel speculation about the existence of other intelligent beings and challenge many assumptions that underpin human philosophy and religion."
