Can they sing without a Tic Tac? Of course! But Little Big Town’s Kimberly Schlapman wouldn’t recommend it, especially in a pivotal concert moment on Keith Urban’s Light the Fuse tour.
Every night on the road, Keith usually has Little Big Town and newcomer Dustin Lynch join him onstage for a live collaboration, cuing Kimberly’s search for the nearest breath mint.
“Karen and I stand really close to him and we always worried if we smell bad because we just did a really sweaty show or we have bad breath or something," Schlapman says. She adds, "When I sing with these boys, I don’t care if I have bad breath. But if I’m going to stand next to Keith Urban I’m going to have a mint in my mouth. He’s not going to remember me for bad breath. We do think about that.”
