We had the huge honor of talking with Sheryl Crow! She was super nice and we had a great conversation with her. If you missed any of it, here are some of the highlights from our interview...
What made you decide to make a country album?
I really wanted to make a country record. I have told this to many people, I had big trepidations about making the crossover because I have seen other artists do that. The country fan base is so loyal and I just consider it such hallowed ground and I wanted to it the right way. I grew up really close to

I always say that the fans will decide if I belong in this format. I love my community, I love being there and I have loved making this record.
Hasn’t your music always had a country undertone?
I think if a lot of my records were released now they would belong in the country format. After I did the duet, or trio, with Loretta Lynn on the CMAs – Brad Paisley came up to me and said to me, “When are you going to come home? When are you going to make a country record? You belong in our format.”
He also told me that, “Don’t change what you do. Because what you do is important to the country format. All you need to do is turn your vocals up and write lyrics that are really concise.”
I wanted to do it the right way and I think that Darius was a good example. I have known him forever. He is just who he is.

Best beauty tip – joy. The other thing is that I haven’t delved into doing anything to my face. I think if you at least keep your youthful expressions, boy that goes a long way.
